Air pollution is a major contributing factor to ill health and environmental risk worldwide, with deprived communities most impacted. Bradford is among the most deprived cities in the UK with high air pollution level in several parts of the city. Air pollution level in the Bradford metropolitan district is associated with increased use of healthcare services use due to respiratory illnesses. However, the impact of air-pollution level on accident and emergency (A&E) and general practice (GP) visits due to cardiac arrhythmia is unknown.The project will investigate the impact of air pollution level in the district on cardiac arrhythmias. The findings will highlight the health impacts of air pollution in the metropolitan district of Bradford. The findings will also improve awareness and encourage policy makers to devise measures to reduce the impact of air pollution in the district.
