Connected South Yorkshire: Enabling access to health and social care data for South Yorkshire

Lay Summary

Connected South Yorkshire is an initiative being co-produced by Data Connect and the South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (SY-ICB). This objective of this initiative is to collate pseudonymised routinely collected health and social care data from Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster to facilitate world-leading research. This work is aligned to the ambition of the Data for R&D Programme led by NHS England, to develop a national interoperable network of Secure Data Environments (SDEs) and a shared long-term vision for building a sentinel, network of regional linked health data assets to enable data-driven discoveries which improve peoples’ lives.
