Building trust: lessons from our March Patient Advisory Group meeting

The recent meeting of Y&H SDE's Patient Advisory Group (PAG) in Leeds focused on the issue of the public's lack of trust in data and data sharing.

Our PAG group advocates on behalf of the wider public, providing diverse perspectives and valuable insights into the needs and concerns of local communities. At the meeting March, the group recommended that rebuilding of public trust in how health and care data is used could be encouraged by building relationships with communities, including:

  • Working with trusted community figures
  • Being open about the risks and limitations
  • Clearly showing how data is used and how it benefits communities
