For all

Clean Air Zones case study

The Born in Bradford study, tracking over 13,000 children, revealed links between pollution and low birth weight. This evidence led to the 2018 launch of a Clean Air Plan, including Clean Air Zones and electric buses to cut emissions.

Follow-up research showed the initiative reduced pollution and saved the NHS around £30,700 per month in its first year.

BiB Breathes Study & Connected Bradford datasets

SEN Support case study

By using data from the Connected Bradford database, which links health, education, and social care records, researchers are finding ways to spot early signs that a child might struggle later on at school and how to better support our most vulnerable children using education records.

The Long Lies case study

The research aims to understand the health, psychological, and economic consequences of long lies while identifying potential interventions to reduce their impact. The study provides insights into how to improve care delivery for this vulnerable population.

Gaps in post-diagnosis care of children study

By using data accessible through the Yorkshire and Humber SDE and linking health with education data, researchers explore the support that children and young people receive (or don’t receive) after being formally diagnosed with neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions.
