The Y&H SDE is a national leader in the linkage of data from general practice (GP) and secondary settings. One of our flagship data products, Connected Bradford, contains ‘whole system data’ that is unparalleled in its richness and diversity.
This includes more than 40 years of information from 1.4m individual patients created by linking data from primary and secondary care, along with data provided by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and health-related data such as those relating to education, housing and air quality.
Importantly, Connected Bradford is the only research database in England that provides linkage between GP data and the data held within hospital Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. This unique ability to link data from their original source will help us save more lives through research.
Real improvements are being made to improve people’s lives, but our ambition is to achieve more. This will require more GP practices sharing data with the Y&H SDE. As a programme we are working with GP Practices and other partners to support concerns and spread awareness of the SDE.
