Rosie Gough

Dr Rosie Gough is the South Yorkshire Delivery Lead for the Yorkshire & Humber SDE and the Operational Lead for Data Connect, a service based at the University of Sheffield. Under her leadership, Data Connect forms the operational core of South Yorkshire’s secure data infrastructure, enabling researchers to safely and securely access vital health and social care data.

Rosie started her career in research, holding a PhD in Biochemistry and working for several years as a postdoc in biochemistry and health sciences. Transitioning into data operations and project management, she now brings that firsthand scientific experience to the SDE. She runs a multidisciplinary team of data managers, data scientists, and project managers who build complex data pipelines and ensure robust data governance across the region’s research portfolio. Rosie is passionate about bringing researchers together, fostering collaboration within her team, and ultimately working to improve the health and wellbeing of the local population.
