Public Advisory Group helps shape SDE future

July 21, 2026

Continued engagement and transparency are essential to creating a shared vision for the Yorkshire and Humber SDE service, say members of the SDE’s Public Advisory Group.

The SDE’s Public Advisory Group (PAG) recently met to review and evaluate the SDE’s new shared vision, acting as “critical friends” to ensure the SDE service reflects public expectations priorities and values.

Overall, the PAG members were positive about the SDE’s proposals and welcomed the opportunity to help shape the service design and long term vision.

One PAG member stated, “It was particularly valuable to come together in person with a diverse group of individuals who each brought different professional, personal and community perspectives to the discussion, ensuring that a broad range of voices informed decision-making. It is often rare to be in spaces where lived experiences and co-production are at the centre of decision-making processes.”

The group raised questions about how the commercial model will operate , as well as concerns about pricing models. But they welcomed the co-design approaches, believing  that communities should always be actively involved.

All the feedback from the session and recommendations by the group will help shape future SDE activities. Read the full report and next steps here (Word document).
